About me

I relocated from Warwick to South Shropshire in 2020, and have continued giving therapy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I now offer sessions from Lydbury North Village Hall.

I trained at Warwick University, obtaining a degree in Person Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy. I have now been practising for 7 years.

My career began working within the criminal justice system, where I was privileged to work with many people who had encountered great challenge in their lives. Working within difficult environments allowed me to witness first hand the potential and growth the person centred approach encourages and facilitates.

I have continued working in private practice where I have been fortunate enough to work with a diverse client base.

“We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are.

Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.”

Carl R. Rogers

What to expect

The Person Centred approach is underpinned by the belief that every human being possesses an inherent capacity for growth, when provided with the right conditions a person is more able to recognise their authentic self, and move towards living a more congruent life.  Within therapy I aim to provide you with an opportunity to explore your concerns, experiences and feelings within a safe, professional and confidential environment.

Voicing your feelings and truly being heard by another can encourage you to find more clarity and understanding of your internal world, which in turn can support you in moving towards finding acceptance, or ways to introduce positive change.

I endeavour to maintain a non-judgemental environment, where clients can feel safe to reflect and explore without fear of being judged. Whilst I will not give orders, homework or direct advice, I may provide supportive challenge to illuminate potentially buried or unseen issues. However, I will always respect my client's autonomy and choice of direction during therapy sessions.

I offer an initial session where we can meet and determine if we would like to work together, this is priced at a reduced rate of £30 for 50 minutes. There is no obligation to commence therapy after this first meeting.
